I have a wonderful 70lb mutt and I cannot stand the thought of leaving her for vacation, so I’m adjusting my vacation plans to better fit her needs. Instead of flying, I’m driving with my boyfriend and four year old dog 2,000 miles. I’m wondering what you all have used to keep your dog comfortable on a road trip. Unfortunately, because I can’t drive stick shifts, we’ll be driving my kind of small car (Saturn Ion 2004) that will not fit her crate. How can I keep her comfortable in the backseat so she’ll be secure and able to sleep during the drive? The backseat consists of 2 bucket seats divided by a black console type thing that I could maybe lay blankets over… If there is some type of car bed or something for my big dog, could you link me to it? more...
